By joining our practice, you will have access to a professional staff:
Randolph Matthews, MD - He is an accomplished magician as well as an excellent clinician (he even keeps track on the chart of magic
tricks he has shown children older than 3 years old - so as not to repeat). He has taught pediatrics at several residency
programs and helped win the teaching award at Jacksonville Naval Hospital. Dr. Matthews (aka Dr. Randy) is founder
and owner of the practice. Dr Matthews has a special interest in asthma and has worked at two asthma specialty
clinics. Until his son started college in 2007, he was a home schooling father. He is president
of the board of the local pregnancy care center and occasionally does pro-life church presentations. Dr Matthews
has been continuously board certified since initially eligible in 1991. He additionally serves as medical
director of the mobile medical ministry of the Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church. Currently he serves on the board of the American College of Pediatricians (see in links section).
John Jasper Wilkins III MD - Dr Wilkins joined our
staff in August of 2010. Although he lives in Whiteville, he has roots in Raleigh where his father is a pastor.
He attended Duke medical school and did his residency at Vanderbilt.
Amalie Shanks, PA - Amalie joined Columbus Pediatrics
& Adolescent Care Jan 4, 2010. She moved from Tennessee and is ready to help with the care of your child.
Amalie is a 2009 graduate of the Unviersity of Kentucky's Physician Assistant program. Past experiences as a babysitter,
camp counselor, children's choir teacher, toddler Sunday school teacher, and assistant day camp director made it very easy
for her to seek her very first job as a Physician Assistant in Pediatrics. Under the guidance of the CPAC physicians,
she desires to increase her knowledge of pediatric and adolescent medicine and bring quality care to your child.
